Over the years we have lost count of the number of customers and enquiries we have received from people who unfortunately lost money to scammers purporting to sell Weed online in the UK.
Some of the tales are truly heart breaking, customers who use these products to help with chronic pain are left out of pocket, unable to re-order due to budget constraints. We have on occasion even sent out products free of charge to assist when we’ve been emotionally affected by the customer explaining the effect it has had on them.
We always ask any customer who has been scammed. We try to collect the scammers URL or email address so that we can compile a list of known scam sites. We work closely with our friends over at High & Polite to keep the Scammers list updated. The current list can be found by clicking here – 2022 Weed Scams List.
Having experienced a multitude of stories of scammers deceiving their victims over the years, we have come to the conclusion that you can quickly establish a potential scam by checking the following:
- Does the website or social media seller only allow the ordering of large quantities? If so, be very vigilant as these scammers only get one chance to scam you so they want it to be worth their while hence £100+ minimum orders are commonplace.
- Payment Options – Does the seller only received payment via Amazon vouchers, or iTunes Gift Cards? This is due to their being no recourse when the transaction is questioned. The same is the case for Bitcoin so be careful with Crypto too. Remember that in most cases a bank transfer or card payment can be reversed but still do your due diligence when dealing with companies offering these payment options.
- Sellers offering THC products are breaking the law, so offering these on the normal web would be very obvious to the authorities, those sellers actually selling THC products will operate on the dark web.
- Finally, if you have fallen foul to one of these scammers, you will likely receive a follow up communication stating that the package is sat in customs and requires clearance at an extra cost.
At Weed Supermarket we offer products in small quantities, we take payment via bank transfer and all postage if Free of Charge, we will never follow up for any additional payments from you.
